California-based mixed reality startup CastAR has filled out its ranks with the hiring of the Eat Sleep Play dev team.

In recent years, Eat Sleep Play has been creating mobile titles in partnership with Zynga, but the studio is best known for its work on the Twisted Metal series.

The Eat Sleep Play team will be based at CastAR's newly opened Salt Lake City studio, which is staffed, in part, by a group of former Avalanche Software devs

"Eat Sleep Play had a 20 year track record of pleasing gamers by contributing to countless top rated console and mobile franchises. We are thrilled to have their experienced developers join the CastAR Salt Lake City team," said company president and COO, Steve Parkis.

Parkis says the new hires will help Cast build momentum as it attempts to launch the first mass market augmented reality gaming platform.
