New Harmonix deal will bring more music games to mobile

Dance Central developer Harmonix announced a partnership with publishing services firm Tilting Point today with the goal of making sweet mobile music games together.

Dance Central developer Harmonix announced a partnership with publishing services firm Tilting Point today with the goal of making sweet mobile music games together. Under the terms of the agreement, Harmonix will make the games while Tilting Point -- established last year by thatgamecompany and EA Partners expats -- provides funding and support services like user research, marketing, network operations, and more. "We’ve known for a long time that we needed a partner to help us succeed on mobile, and Tilting Point simply has the best offering for developers," stated Harmonix cofounder Alex Rigopulos in a press release confirming the partnership. Harmonix is no stranger to mobile game development, having most recently launched its musical endless runner Record Run. However, the company has struggled with layoffs as it experiments with a number of new projects -- like the beat-based multiplayer shooter Chroma and the Kickstarted Amplitude -- in recent months.
