Pop quiz: What's the fastest-moving Pokemon in the Americas? Apparently Pokemon Sun Moon, which have combined crossed the 3.7 million units sold mark in the week and a half since their November 18th launch in the region.

That's a sizable number that, according to Nintendo, makes Sun Moon the fastest-selling Nintendo games ever released in the Americas. The games' initial launch in Japan earlier this month was similarly big, with sales of physical copies surpassing 2 million within roughly three days.

It seems likely that the runaway success of Niantic and The Pokemon Company's F2P mobile game Pokemon Go earlier this year had some influence on Sun Moon's strong sales -- it boosted Nintendo's sales of both Pokemon 3DS games and 3DS hardware itself earlier this year -- though Nintendo has yet said nothing to that effect.
