Masato Masuda, the game developer best known for creating the Japanese Fire Pro Wrestling series, has passed away. He was 48 years old. The news comes via a tweet from Japanese game veteran Goichi Suda, in which the designer stated, "He was one of the greatest creators of video games and he was my direct teacher." Masuda originally developed Pro Wrestling for the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1987 while at Japanese TRY. After TRY became Human Entertainment, Masuda went on to create the iconic Fire Pro Wrestling. Fire Pro Wrestling would eventually become a popular, long-running Japanese series spanning across the SNES, the Sega Genesis and PC, with numerous spin-offs created well into the current century.
