One of the smaller yet persistent issues developers have brought up with the Ouya microconsole is the inability for customers to buy titles right from the console's storefront. As of today, that has changed. Previously, customers could only purchase Ouya titles by downloading the free-to-try version and then buying the full game from within the software. Now, Ouya has rolled out a new system update that, among other features geared toward enhancing browsability, allows devs to directly set up a purchase link from Ouya menus, including the new System Menu. "We'll be expanding and adding more functionality to this menu in the future," Ouya explains in the system update notes, which outlines the rest of the System Menu's present capabilities. Additionally, developers are now able to post download links to their Ouya games from elsewhere on the web, beyond the company's ouya.tv domain. The company says it will be demonstrating this feature in an upcoming newsletter. Other items included in today's update are modifications to the UI, USB-based external storage, and features for A/B testing. You can check out all the details here.
