Dublin-based Keywords Studios is continuing to expand the scope of its business, announcing this week that it has acquired Player Research, a playtesting research firm and game design consultancy based in the UK.

This has implications for any dev who works with either company, and marks the latest step in Keywords' ongoing efforts to expand into many different areas of 'services' for game companies.

Last year, for example, it acquired video game art services studio Liquid for $9 million; Keywords' purchases this year include Chinese art provider Mindwalk and visual development studio Volta in Quebec City.

Keywords has been operating for nearly twenty years, and is known best for contracting with video game companies like Ubisoft, Konami, and CD Projekt Red to provide services like localization, accessibility testing and QA.
