Metal Gear Solid publisher Konami announced this week sales of 98.7 billion yen ($861 million) for the six months ended September 30, virtually flat year-on-year. Profits for the period were 3.3 billion yen, up from 2 billion yen for the same period last year. The Tokyo-based company, which noted an improving Japanese economy, said Western markets are still soft. Main sales drivers in its home video game business include continuing sales of Metal Gear games. Mobile sales were helped by Dragon Collection and World Soccer Collection. Konami expects full-year sales of 220 billion yen, and profits of 7 billion yen for the full fiscal year, ending March 2015. PlayStation 3, originally released in 2006, captured a large chunk of Konami's home software business. Below are unit sales and platform breakdowns, according to Konami's latest financial report, released this week.
