Wireless development company Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon Game Pack, a new program set to represent games optimized for Snapdragon-based mobile devices. Initially featuring over 100 "console-quality" and casual mobile games, the pack aims to highlight the advantages of the Snapdragon processors by providing numerous gaming experiences with enhanced visuals. Over 125 Snapdragon devices have been announced, while more than 250 are in development. This new pack of Snapdragon-optimized titles for Android is in aid of showing publishers the features available on the platform, while also providing an opportunity to generate new revenue from existing game catalogs. Developers involved in the pack include the likes of Booyah, Com2us, Glu, Namco Bandai, Gameloft and Tripwire Interactive. Dave Durnil, director of advanced content at Qualcomm, explained, "We are excited to be leading the way with the top game developers in the industry to bring better gaming experiences to Android and other platforms for everyone to enjoy." "Our in-house gaming team is comprised of lead programmers from major game studios that have launched commercial titles for consoles and mobile. This team is focused on enabling industry-leading gaming experiences for our next-generation Snapdragon mobile processors and supporting developers that are part of the Snapdragon Game Pack."
