Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list. This week sees the PlayStation Vita launch in Japan alongside awaited titles like Final Fantasy XIII-2, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Inazuma Eleven Go. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending December 17th, 2011. Games Released in the United States: While North America's retail lineup thins as the holidays approach, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are set to host a variety of new and expanded downloadable content, including an upgraded Xbox 360 edition of Hello Games' Joe Danger and a collection of new tables for Zen Studios' Marvel Pinball and Pinball FX 2. Konami's Professor Layton-like adventure game Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights headlines this week's portable lineup, joining a remake of the classic educational title The Oregon Trail and a pair of 3DS hunting titles from Mastiff. Games Released in Japan: Sony's PlayStation Vita premieres in Japan this week, bringing with it a launch lineup that includes a wide variety of upgraded ports (Makai Senki Disgaea 3 Return, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3) and platform-exclusive sequels in popular franchises (Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Katamari Damacy No-Vita, Hot Shots Golf 6). The Vita will debut stateside and in other regions on February 22nd, 2012. This week will also see the release of Square Enix's anticipated RPG sequel Final Fantasy XIII-2, along with Arc System Works' 2D fighter Blazblue: Continuum Shift Extend and Access Games' Lord of Arcana follow-up Lord of Apocalypse. 3DS highlights include the Renegade remake Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun Special and two new editions in Level 5's Inazuma Eleven series.
