Word is spreading today that Relentless Software, the Brighton-based developer known best for making the Buzz! trivia games (pictured), is shutting down and laying off all hands after over twelve years in business.

The closure is especially troubling in light of the fact that Relentless secured government funding to open a new studio in Wales earlier this year, where it planned to create 70 new jobs as it worked with Hasbro to develop "new projects" based on Hasbro toys.

Those plans seem to have not panned out; Relentless founder Andrew Eades confirmed the company's shutdown to GamesIndustry today, though no explanation was given and it's yet unclear exactly how many people will lose their jobs.

Gamasutra has reached out to Relentless for further details on what's happening and why; if you or someone you know has been affected by this, you can email Gamasutra to tell your story in confidence.
