Newsbrief: Reports are circling that Zombie Farm developer The Playforge is shutting down, affecting all remaining staff. The San Francisco-headquartered Playforge was acquired by Saban Brands in August of last year, shortly after a set of layoffs in which around 20 staff members were let go. This week, Inside Mobile Apps cites a source as saying Playforge's remaining team members were notified earlier this week of the studio's closure, the result of rising costs and poor commercial performance on some of its titles. Gamasutra has been able to obtain confirmation of the studio's in-progress closure from a separate source.
