Newsbrief: VentureBeat reports that Google's long-rumored acquisition of video-streaming site Twitch has been signed, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter. Rumors flared up of the acquisition in May, though both companies declined to comment on them at that point. So far, Gamasutra has gotten a "no comment" from a Twitch spokesperson and, as of writing, no response at all from Google. VentureBeat's Dean Takahashi cites a buying price of $1 billion but says that other details of the deal are still under wraps. The report says that YouTube is in charge of the acquisition. We will update this story with any details as they become available. UPDATE: A Google spokesperson responded to a request for comment on the deal with: "We don't comment on rumor or speculation."
