Newsbrief: Developer and publisher Rovio Mobile has announced that Angry Birds Space, the next entry from its phenomenally successful bird-flinging franchise, will launch on March 22. The Finnish company will debut Angry Bird Space with mobile gaming, animation, retail, and publishing components simultaneously -- which it claims is a first for a mobile title. Rovio also says Angry Bird Space will be "a completely new game." Since Angry Birds' debut in 2009 for iOS, the series has seen more than 700 million free and paid downloads across a variety of platforms and special edition releases (e.g. Angry Birds Rio). Most recently, Rovio launched Angry Birds on Facebook. The developer has also capitalized on merchandising for the franchise, and expanding it to other media like cartoons -- it's reportedly sold more than 10 million Angry Birds toys. Rovio will unveil more details for Angry Birds Space's multi-faceted launch next month.
