Newsbrief: Social games company Slingo has been acquired by internet services company RealNetworks, as the latter looks to forge a path into the world of social casino games. RealNetworks paid $15.6 million for Slingo. That money buys it everything Slingo-related, from the Facebook version of the casual Slingo game, which currently sees around 4.5 million monthly players, to the mobile versions that have been downloaded millions of times. And RealNetworks plans to build on the game's popularity, with new versions for Facebook, iPhone, iPad and Android on the way. More information can be found on RealNetwork's website.
