Newsbrief: Sony Online Entertainment has announced another entry for the fast-growing free-to-play first-person shooter market with Bullet Run, a new title releasing for PC this summer. The publisher has had plenty of success with other free-to-play PC titles like Free Realms and Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and it's also developing an MMOFPS under that business model with Planetside 2. Developed by German independent studio Acony (Parabellum), Bullet Run has a near-future, The Running Man-esque setting in which players join teams and battle others to the death as part of a reality TV game show. Acony believes that the game's "sexier, media-driven storyline" will set Bullet Run apart from other FPSes and attract players who might be tired of military-themed shooters (e.g. Nexon's Combat Arms, Valve's Counter-Strike Online).
