Newsbrief: The upcoming Gran Turismo 6 for the PlayStation 3 will feature a system for in-game microtransactions, a Sony representative said via the company's EU blog yesterday. Purchasable as credits from the PlayStation Network and physical retailers, the in-game credits are used to purchase vehicles, parts and related accessories. While Sony has released a partial list of some of the cars for purchase on the points system, it's as yet unclear how much the credit bundles (available in units of 500,000, 1 million, 2.5 million and 7 million) will go for in terms of real-world money. Gran Turismo 6 is the first game in the franchise to feature microtransactions. The game is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 3 in Asia on December 5th and in all other territories on December 6th.
