Newsbrief: Sports and eSports are about to inch a little bit closer, as Major League Gaming and ESPN's X Games partner together for a shared event in Austin, Texas this June. Participants in the MLG Call of Duty: Ghosts three-day invitational held alongside the regional X Games Circuit of The Americas event will get X Games medals; attendance to the Call of Duty tournament will be open to everyone who has a ticket for the X Games event. According to the press release, the MLG will also be "highlighted" in mainstream reporting on the X Games on the ESPN and ABC television networks, potentially leading to increased attention on eSports for unacquainted audiences. The event is "presented by Xbox," according to the press release, and the tournament will be played exclusively on Xbox One consoles.
