Strong Activision Blizzard results boost parent company Vivendi's fiscal profits

Newsbrief: Activision Blizzard majority shareholder Vivendi posted financial results for the full 2011 fiscal year, noting a rise in profits year-over-year thanks in part to "excellent results" from its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 subsidiary. The company put it down to the success of Modern Warfare 3, as well as Skylanders Spyro's Adventure and the ongoing success of World of Warcraft. Activision Blizzard had already posted its fiscal results last month, noting an increase in profits year-over-year. For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2011, Vivendi posted revenues of 28.8 billion euros ($38.4 billion), down 0.2 percent year-over-year, and profits of 3.0 billion euros ($3.9 billion), up 9.4 percent year-over-year.
