Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
The Liverpool-based studio says the undisclosed sum will help fuel both its current and future development projects.
Noted Chinese video game and internet giant Tencent is once again expanding its global reach, this time through an investment in the Liverpool-based animation and game studio Milky Tea.
The investment comes as Milky Tea is knee deep in the development of its third game, the sports combat title HyperBrawl Tournament.
The funds gained from its new partnership with Tencent will continue to fuel the development of that title while also allowing the studio to expand its development team and start looking toward potential new projects.
“This partnership marks a turning-point in Milky Tea’s history. The scale of it really hasn't hit home just yet, but we are all really proud to be part of the Tencent family and we couldn’t ask for better partners,” said Milky Tea founder and managing director Jonathan Holmes.
“Everyone at Tencent has gone above and beyond our expectations to make this happen and from a personal point of view, it’s a dream come true. It allows us as a team to focus on making the kind of high-quality games that we’ve always dreamed of making.”
