Newsbrief: As part of restructuring efforts meant to overcome its financial woes, THQ has reportedly laid off around 20 workers from its marketing and production teams at its Agoura Hills headquarters. The publisher has emphasized to Gamasutra that none of its development teams have been affected, and that it doesn't expect the layoffs to impact titles currently in production. CEO Jason Rubin, who took over the company a few months ago, said the publisher is seeking to update it approach to marketing, according to an alleged internal email posted by 3D Realms founder and industry veteran George Broussard. Rubin added that this move (and planned hires in the near future) represents "a shift of resources from oversight to production, and from centralization out to the teams."
