Top-Grossing iOS Games: Rage of Bahamut reports sales surge

Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue see Plague Inc. and Rage of Bahamut earning top iPhone sales, while DragonVale and Kingdoms of Camelot remain big sellers on the iPad.

Every week, Gamasutra rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Plague Inc. and Rage of Bahamut earning top iPhone sales, while DragonVale and Kingdoms of Camelot remain big sellers on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North (Kabam, Free) 2. DragonVale (Backflip Studios, Free) 3. Rage of Bahamut (Mobage, Free) 4. Poker by Zynga (Zynga, Free) 5. Plague Inc. (Ndemic Creations, $0.99) 6. Slotomania (Playtika, Free) 7. Bejeweled Blitz (PopCap, Free) 8. Minecraft: Pocket Edition (Mojang, $6.99) 9. Original Gangstaz HD (Machine Zone, Free) 10. Tap Paradise Cove (Pocket Gems, Free) After leading Google Play's top-grossing charts for the last two months, Mobage's online trading card game Rage of Bahamut makes its iOS chart debut at third place this week, trailing reigning sales leaders Kingdoms of Camelot and DragonVale. This week's top paid title Plague Inc. ranks in at fifth place, while Machine Zone's MMO gang war title Original Gangstaz HD overtakes Tap Paradise Cove for ninth. Here are this week’s top-grossing iPad applications: 1. DragonVale (Backflip Studios, Free) 2. Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North (Kabam, Free) 3. Poker by Zynga (Zynga, Free) 4. Slotomania HD (Playtika, Free) 5. Mystery Manor: Hidden Adventure (Game Insight, Free) 6. Bejeweled Blitz (PopCap, Free) 7. Modern War (Funzio, Free) 8. Slotomania (Playtika, Free) 9. Order & Chaos Online (Gameloft, $6.99) 10. Bingo Bash HD (BitRhymes Inc, Free) Kabam's Kingdoms of Camelot moves up to second place in the iPad charts after claiming fourth last week, overtaking longtime App Store favorites Poker by Zynga and Slotomania HD. Gameloft's iOS MMORPG Order & Chaos Online returns to the top ten at ninth place following a recent update, as newcomer Bingo Bash HD makes its chart debut this week at tenth place.
