Newsbrief: The success of toys-to-life franchise Disney Infinity is having a big effect on Disney: The company is merging its interactive and consumer products divisions into one.

The move comes "in response to changing consumer preferences in a marketplace increasingly influenced by technology," according to the company's press release.

The toy-centric Infinity has become a huge hit for the company; its sales have pulled its interactive division out of a years-long slump. The fact of the matter is, the line between digital and physical is fast dissolving, and with this move, Disney formally recognizes that.
