Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
The latest Rayman game is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2014, and Ubisoft ported the free demo to browsers in an effort to help fans spread the word.
Ubisoft is releasing an enhanced version of Rayman Legends for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 25, 2014. To drum up excitement the French publisher built a free browser-based demo of the game, which you can play right now. Ubisoft is notoriously eager to bring its games to new platforms, so its hardly surprising to see Legends getting the next-gen treatment. What's more surprising is the marketing method: building a demo that plays in a browser seems like an easy way to expose a wider audience to Rayman via social networks, which may help the game gain traction with a legion of new console owners. Of course, it's hard to imagine that anyone with even a remote interest in console games doesn't already own a device that can download a demo of Legends -- the game has been available for months on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Wii U. For those who missed out, the browser-based demo -- playable right now with either a gamepad or a mouse and keyboard -- lets you play through three popular levels from the Rayman franchise.
