Newsbrief: Online game publisher Nexon Korea has partnered with Valve Software to co-develop and publish Counter-Strike Online 2, a new free-to-play shooter specifically developed for Asian markets. Nexon, which collaborated with Valve on the original Counter-Strike Online in 2007, will co-develop Counter-Strike Online 2 using an enhanced version of Valve's Source engine, and will build upon the traditional Counter-Strike framework by adding additional customization options tied to in-game microtransactions. Nexon will also serve as the game's sole publisher, and it will release the game in Japan, Korea, China, and other regions throughout Southeast Asia.
