Vancouver Film School has established a partnership agreement that will equip its students with educational licenses for Pixologic's modeling, texturing, and illustration tool ZBrush. The Canadian entertainment arts institution offers a number of degree programs in game design and digital animation at its four campuses located in Vancouver, British Columbia. All students enrolled in Vancouver Film School's Animation & Visual Effects program will have access to ZBrush tools, upgrades, and technical support. "Pixologic enthusiastically supports education and is committed to providing artists with the most innovative cutting edge tools of their craft," said Pixologic Chief Operating Officer Jaime Labelle. "From illustration to animation and visual effects to game design, we at Pixologic recognize the standard of excellence that comes from the entire VFS community and are thrilled to partner and support them in their creative process." Vancouver Film School representatives note that ZBrush has been used in the development of notable games like Epic's Gears of War 2 and BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins. Graduate students of the school's Animation & Visual Effects program were involved in the creation of both titles. "This partnership really allows us to take advantage of what Pixologic brings to the table with their products," said Vancouver Film School managing director Marty Hasselbach. "It also allows Pixologic to benefit from what VFS does, and that is create fantastic work using their cutting-edge software, ZBrush."
