Newsbrief: San Diego-based SweetLabs has previously helped game studios bring their social titles to PC without the need for a web browser, including social games giant Kabam. Now the company is going one step further, launching a new game network that will offer distributed games to over 300 million registered users. The Pokki Game Network expands on the original Pokki concept, combining an advertising network with a service that converts social browser games into desktop versions. Games will be promoted via the Pokki portal, as well as through download portals like Softtonic and Download.com. German social game company Bigpoint is one of the first heavyweights on board -- a number of Bigpoint's games are now available through the Pokki Game Network. Those developers interested in joining the network can apply at the official website.
