Windows Store now accepts PEGI 18 rated games

Newsbrief: Microsoft is slowly but surely revising the rating system for its Windows Store, most recently allowing 'Mature' games to be released on the store. Now the company is welcoming PEGI 18 rated games in Europe too. Under the original Windows Store policy, games that had earned a PEGI 18 rating in Europe would not be allowed on the proprietary Windows 8 marketplace. That means that major titles such as Skyrim, Max Payne 3, Borderlands 2, and others simply wouldn't be available through the service. However, after taking a fair amount of flak over the decision, the company is now allowing 'Mature' games and, from today, PEGI 18 games. As a result, Microsoft says games like The Witcher and Grand Theft Auto IV will soon be available to European users as a result.
