XSEED JKS, Inc., publisher behind The Last Story and the upcoming Suda51 title Killer is Dead, announced today that it would be re-incorporating under the name Marvelous USA, Inc., after its parent company, MarvelousAQL. Founded in 2004 by former members of Square Enix USA, XSEED Games became a subsidiary of Marvelous in 2008. In 2010, XSEED partnered with Nihon Falcom to bring a new wave of games from the Ys franchise to the West. Under its new name, Marvelous USA will continue its publishing operations under XSEED co-founder Ken Berry, with Shinichi Suzuki serving as president and CEO. "Marvelous USA unifies our US operations under the global Marvelous brand while giving our customers topnotch products and support for both traditional and online social and mobile games," said Suzuki. In addition to the rebranding, MarvelousAQL also noted its recent acquisition of ATLUS Online, a division of ATLUS USA previously responsible for servicing free-to-play MMORPGs Neo Steam and Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine.
