If you know me well, then you know that I am big on risk assessment and planning.  You can never be too prepared.  I am the kind of person that buys two tubes of toothpaste so that when the first is gone there is always a backup tube :)  It is just one way of removing stress from my life.   There is nothing more irritating than not having toilet paper and having to run to the store at 1:00AM to buy some.  Okay, enough about toothpaste and toilet paper :D

I am in the middle of rendering artwork for the new game and working on graphics for the super awesome success story Intel is writing about Neuron!  Yesterday I was asked to provide much higher resolution images than normal for print quality (300dpi = 2400 pixels wide for a screen shot) for the Intel story.  No problem.  So I close out the game project on the render box and proceed to render some artwork for Intel at a much higher resolution.  To render something like this takes the box about 2 hours due to the complexity of the scene.  Anyhow, about an hour in I hear a load "POP!" and the faint sound of my 21" monitor powering off mid-render.  Great!

Luckily I have a 17-inch CRT laying around that I had to plug in to finish the job until the new LCD arrives.  So it is nice to have old equipment like that around to save the day.  Anyhow, I got the images rendered and sent off to Intel as promised :)  So plan for the worst and hope for the best :D
