Social game company Zynga said Wednesday that it acquired London- and Istanbul-based independent mobile game studio Gram Games for $250 million in cash.

In addition to the cash amount, Zynga said it’d pay an additional cash amont based on whether or not Gram met certain performance metrics within the next three years.

The acquisition comes as Zynga, best known as the browser-based social game company behind Farmville, makes further inroads into mobile games. Zynga said the acquisition adds 3 million mobile daily active users to the 25 million DAUs reported at the end of March this year.

Gram Games is known for games including Merge Dragons!, a top-50 grossing App Store game, and 1010! The studio, which employs 77 people, has games in development that Zynga expects to launch next year.
