The second annual Berlin International Games Festival, A MAZE. Indie Connect 2013, which wrapped several days ago, has given its award of "Most Amazing Indie Game 2013" to Spaceteam. Spaceteam was developed by former BioWare developer Henry Smith for iOS devices. Billed as "an adventurous mobile space party game," groups of two or more players link up to pilot a ship through treacherous deep space - by, of course, shouting cheesy technobabble at one another. The game previously netted a nomination for "Excellence in Innovation" from the 9th International Mobile Gaming Awards and was a finalist at this year's Independent Games Festival. At A MAZE., Smith's game was selected from over 70 entries and voted on by an international panel. The award is accompanied with a cash prize of 5,000 Euro. "The festival was super successful," says director Thorsten S. Wiedermann. "I wasn't aware that so many new and interesting faces from the international indie scene would show up in Berlin."
