Role-playing games can be a strange mix of game development ingredients sometimes. On the one hand, players often expect the genre to be a standard of narrative game design, on the other hand, they still want a combat system that can anchor the experience and reflect their growth across an adventure.

How do you balance that design dynamic, especially when you’re an independent developer half a world away from much your players? Today, we’re going to talk with Ian Gregory, creative director on Masquerada: Songs and Shadows, an RPG with top-tier voice talent that was birthed not in the traditional hubs of game development, but in Singapore.

We’ve featured a few chats with Ian and his colleagues over the last year, but now we’ll get to talk with him live as we play Masquerada and see how the game has turned out. Come play with us, and ask questions about RPG design or indie development in Singapore today at 2PM EST on Twitch. (Be sure to note the time difference, we're going an hour earlier!)
