Emergent's Gamebryo LightSpeed rapid prototyping tool, a development environment built on top of Emergent's multiplatform Gamebryo engine, now features sky and lighting capabilities provided by Sundog. A specialized integration of Sundog Software's SilverLining SDK is now available in Gamebryo Lightspeed, offering a variety of in-depth tools for creating and controlling weather effects, skies, outdoor sun and moon lighting, volumetric clouds, and time of day settings. Sundog says its tool suite has been employed in games as well as weather-intensive applications like military simulations, televised weather forecasts, and architectural visualization. "The SilverLining integration provides a seamless authoring experience within the LightSpeed workflow," said Emergent sales and marketing VP Katie Morgan. "From rapid content creation with the custom entity library to real-time interaction with SilverLining elements within the Worldbuilder editor, users will quickly appreciate the speed at which they can create dramatic results for outdoor environments."
