Now that registration is open for the 2018 Game Developers Conference, the folks organizing want to make sure to let you know about some of the cool, cutting-ege talks that are being locked in for the show.

Notably, Techland's Bartosz Kulon is coming to GDC next year to talk about everything he learned about creating games with great 3D movement while working on Dying Light.

In his GDC 2018 Design Track talk on "Parkour: How to Improve Freedom of Movement in First-Person Games in 20 Simple Steps", Kulon will share a colorful story of how movement, running, and climbing was done in the game, as well as examples of the problems he encountered and solutions to them.

Sit in on his talk and you should walk about with a better understanding how to create a movement for a player character in a first-person game that feels smooth, responsive, and empowering.

Plus, we have lots more GDC 2018 announcements to make in the coming months. For more information about GDC 2018 visit the show's official website, and subscribe to regular updates via Facebook, Twitter, or RSS.

Gamasutra and GDC are sibling organizations under parent UBM Americas
