Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Heads up, UE4 devs: Epic has made the "Showdown" UE4 tech demo it brought to Oculus Connect last year freely available to download and deconstruct.
About this time last year, Epic Games debuted a tech demo known as "Showdown" at Oculus Connect in Hollywood in an effort to showcase how developers might use Unreal Engine 4 to create virtual reality games and experiences.
Now, almost a year later, you can download the Showdown demo project and its associated assets for yourself through the 'Learn' section of Epic's launcher. Developers handy with Unreal can dig into the project to see how it works, and anyone can play the demo on an HTC Vive, the Oculus DK2 or (if you happen to have one handy) Sony's Project Morpheus headset.
