Peking University and Abertay University have established an agreement that will see both institutions collaborating in game design study programs. Abertay's Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Bernard King CBE and Peking's Executive Vice President and Professor Dr. Lin Jianhua signed a memorandum of understanding between the two universities on April 10th at Peking University in the People's Republic of China. The agreement makes Peking University's School of Software and Microelectronics an international partner of Abertay’s Scottish Centre of Excellence for Computer Games Education. "We are delighted to welcome Peking University as an International Partner of our Scottish Centre of Excellence for Computer Games Education," said King. "This is further recognition of Abertay's pre-eminence in computer games and computer arts education, and also for the successful UK games industry with which we enjoy a close working relationship." Peking University and Abertay University plan to collaborate in curriculum design and development, teaching and learning methods, and in areas that improve graduate employability. The two universities will also cooperate to develop Abertay's "Dare to be Digital" computer game design competition, which was recently awarded a grant from the Scottish government.
