Video game middleware developer Scaleform has announced the release of Scaleform GFx 3.0, the latest iteration of its user interface and vector graphics engine. As part of the new edition, Scaleform has partnered with CRI Middleware to integrate the CRI Movie codec. Simultaneously with GFx 3.0, Scaleform will also launch the Scaleform Video module, a multiplatform video solution intended to smoothly integrate with the Adobe Flash support in GFx 3.0. "When Scaleform tightly integrates best-of-breed tools into a unified artist-driven, production-proven, multifunctional solution, we change the 'game,'" said Scaleform CEO Brendan Iribe. "The result addresses more of the developer's production challenges, offering the ease and flexibility of an integrated workflow and creativity that was simply not possible before." Other features of GFx 3.0 include Scaleform Common Lightweight Interface Kit, which aims to streamline user multiplatform user interface development across PC, console, and mobile by standardizing the development environment and pipeline, and the Scaleform Analyzer for Memory and Performance, which provides performance and memory usage data to improve the optimization process. The company will showcase its new product during this month's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco
