Namco Bandai's Another Century's Episode Portable usurped long-time sales leader Monster Hunter Portable 3 on the Japanese weekly sales charts, reports tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended January 16, Namco's PSP mech action title led the charts with 70,217 units sold in its first week, while Capcom's monster-hunting title sold 68,274 units, down roughly 50 percent from last week. Nintendo's Donkey Kong Country Returns rounded out the top three, and Level 5's Ni no Kuni: The Ebony Wizard jumped from number six to number four. Namco Bandai's PSP dating sim AKB1/48: If I loved an Idol returned to the top 10 at number five, followed by Arc System Works' 2D fighter Arcana Heart 3 at number six. Nintendo titles Wii Party and Pokemon Black/White slipped down the charts and fell to numbers seven and eight, respectively. The PS3 version of Bioware and Microsoft Game Studios' Mass Effect 2 made its debut this week, and landed at number 15 with 8,864 units sold. Titles falling from the top 10 this week include Square Enix's The 3rd Birthday and SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha - Shadow or Light, and Nintendo's New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Below is Media Create's top 20 sales chart for the week ended January 16, 2011.
