Electronic Arts’ heavily advertised Army of Two has topped both the combined and individual format charts this week in the UK. It becomes the first new intellectual property to hit the number one spot this year and Electronic Arts’ first new IP at number one since Black two years ago. The Xbox 360 version topped the individual formats charts, with 66 percent of sales, with the PlayStation 3 version coming in at number five. The game is the third title in the combined formats chart to reach number one this year which has only been available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, after Burnout Paradise and Devil May Cry 4. With Nintendo titles enjoying a less obvious stranglehold on the charts than previous weeks, the next highest new entry is the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition at number six. Despite new controversy surrounding the game in the UK, the title has reverted from Canis Canem Edit to its more controversial North American name on the Xbox 360 and Wii. The latter version has not charted anywhere in the top forty. The final new entry in the top ten is Soulstorm at number eight, with the UK originated Warhammer franchise proving as popular as ever in its native country. The title is the third and final expansion for THQ’s real-time strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, originally created by Relic Entertainment. Outside of the top ten, the highest new entry is the Xbox 360 version of THQ’s MX vs. ATV: Untamed at number twenty-five, although no other format versions appear in the top forty. With sales split almost evenly between the versions, Koei’s Dynasty Warriors 6 appears at number twenty-nine on the Xbox 360 and at number thirty on the PlayStation 3.
