Grand Theft Auto IV has remained at the top of the UK sales charts for the fourth week in a row, with the Xbox 360 version still leading the PlayStation 3 despite a prominent number of new entries. Usual chart companion Wii Fit has almost entirely run out of stock this week though, with the game falling from third place to number forty. The highest new entry of the week is Funcom’s massively multiplayer online game Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures at number three. Published in the UK by Eidos Interactive, the game enjoyed the biggest launch for a PC title this year in the UK. As well as worldwide sales of over 400,000 units in the first few days, the game also had the biggest ever launch for an online only title in the UK - outside of the World of WarCraft franchise. Despite largely negative reviews from the specialist press, Ubisoft’s PlayStation 3 exclusive Haze entered the charts at number four, while MTV Games circumvented similarly vociferous complaints about the price of Rock Band in the UK to debut at number six. The game has only been released on Xbox 360 so far in Europe, with other console versions due later this summer. With no bundle containing both game and all the instruments in Europe, three quarters of those who purchased the standalone Rock Band title (RRP £49.99) also chose to purchase the Band in a Box hardware bundle for £129.99. However, many online stores in particular offered discounted unofficial bundles combining the two. There were no other new entries in the top forty, although Sega Superstars Tennis on Wii did re-enter the charts at number twenty-four, Guitar Hero III on Xbox 360 at number twenty-eight and, due to retail discounts various version of Electronic Arts’ FIFA 08.
