A preview in the latest issue of Japanese video games magazine Famitsu has revealed that Capcom are planning a version of Xbox 360 hit Dead Rising for the Wii. The game went unmentioned at the company’s press conference yesterday at E3, which focused exclusively on the forthcoming movie version of Lost Planet. However, the extensive Famitsu preview appears to indicate that the game will be an adaptation of the original game rather than a wholly new title. Originally believed to be an Xbox 360 exclusive franchise, according to an article from consumer news site CVG and rough translations, the port has been undertaken by Capcom following higher than expected sales of Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. The game will be playable with the Wii remote and nunchuck, and screenshots show several quick time event sequences utilizing motion controls. The article also indicates that the new version of the game is “taking into mind casual gamer’s needs”.
