The big AAA season starts early this year, as Square Enix has revealed an August 23 launch date for Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Developed by Eidos Montreal, it's the continuation of a beloved series that went on hiatus in 2003 with the release of Deus Ex: Invisible War. The action RPG promises "open-ended, hybrid gameplay," according to the company. "We are extremely excited and proud of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and cannot wait to finally let gamers experience this unique and captivating game," says Eidos Montreal general manager Stephane D'Astous, general manager of Eidos-Montreal. The game focuses on the story of Adam Jensen, a man who received cybernetic augmentation against his will and finds himself at the core of a global conspiracy. Choice and multiple paths are key to the brand. "The team has worked incredibly hard these last few years to create an unforgettable universe which introduces franchise fans and new players alike to this powerful vision of the future, where the choices you make create your own personal gameplay experience," says D'Astous. The game will also be available in "Augmented Edition", which includes extra features, credits to upgrade weapons and some exclusive items, along with a "making of" DVD, soundtrack, motion-comic and art book. Gamers can also get in-game enhancements by preordering.
