Incredible Technologies, the developers of the notably successful U.S.-produced Golden Tee Golf trackabll arcade machine, have introduced the AdWiz advertising client for operators of Golden Tee arcade machines, bringing the 'advergaming' concept into North American bars and arcades for the first time. The AdWiz program, designed for Golden Tee Live machines, is installed on the operator's personal computer, where it can be used to import existing images into user-created ads. Using the software, operators can schedule ads to appear on either or both of the machine's screens, as well as decide when the ads are shown: during attract mode, upon starting a new game, or on the upper screen during play. Once an ad campaign is created, the client can burn it to CD or DVD for installation onto the Golden Tee cabinet. More frequently seen in bars and other leisure areas than standard video game arcades, Golden Tee has become one of the more successful North American arcade titles of the last few years, and this latest iteration of the game features online play, as well as customizable characters and even cash prizes for tournament winners. "AdWiz is the perfect compliment to our newly released Facts Live contest software," said Andy Kniaz, IT's executive director. "Now operators can advertise local contests with full-screen images right on the game. The combination of eye-catching ads from AdWiz, along with messages and leaderboards from Facts, is a one-two punch that has amazing revenue potential."
