[Every other week, Gamasutra examines the fastest growing Facebook games (according to monthly active users), looking at which titles and developers are having the most success attracting new players on the social network.] Though Millionaire City's growth has slightly slowed (adding 243,503 new users this week), two other Digital Chocolate titles saw big gains in the last seven days. The company's Hollywood City, launched on November 1st, is the fastest-growing game on Facebook right now after picking up 1.7 million new monthly users. Hollywood City more than doubled its population with those newcomers, and it now has a total of 2.4 million users. For comparison, Diversion Inc.'s FameTown, which debuted on the same day with a similar premise, only has 434,500 players despite funding from former Walt Disney CEO Michael Eisner. Another Digital Chocolate title released earlier this month, Vegas City, is at #4 for the week after nearly doubling its audience with 700,624 new virtual casino magnates. The game currently has a total of 1.1 million monthly active users all trying to build their own version of Las Vegas. At #2 and #3, we have Funzio's Crime City and Lolapps' Ravenwood Fair, respectively. Crime City has 859,876 new players and 5.6 million total. Ravenwood Fair, the only Lolapps game not affected by viral restrictions imposed on the studio as punishment for recent user privacy issues, has 858,226 new players and 3.7 million total. RedSpell's Simply Hospital takes #5 with 626,488 new patients and 2.5 million total, followed by Digital Chocolate's Island God (adding 612,201 users for 849,305 total), Arabic gifting app لعبة الحقيقة (adding 462,362 new users for 2.6 million total), and Chinese RPG 恐龍王國 (adding 428,278 new users for 1.3 million total). JibJab, a gifting application, is listed at #9 on the games chart with 311,497 new users and 1.5 million total, while The WTF Game (essentially the same app as Try To Pass This Game) added 310,258 players for an 812,539 total. The full list of the top 20 fastest growing Facebook games along with exact monthly active user counts are as follows: All charts and data are courtesy of Facebook application metrics and trends site AppData.
