Despite sales slipping by 49 percent, multiformat hit Lego Star Wars II has managed to remain entrenched at number one in the UK video game sales charts, in the face of stiff competition from a trio of new releases. Eidos’ Just Cause came the closest to ousting LucasArts’ brick-based blockbuster at number two, with the game topping both the individual Xbox and Xbox 360 charts, despite mixed reviews. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 opened well at number three, although how the European victory in the Ryder Cup affected the sales of a game endorsed by such a prominent member of the rival team is unclear. At number four, UK publisher Codemasters saw its LMA Manager soccer management series open to its strongest debut yet, while the release of the Xbox 360 and PSP versions of The Godfather saw that game jump fifteen place, back into the top ten. Other new entries outside of the top ten include Electronic Arts’ NHL 07 at number twenty-two, console and PC title Super-Bikes Riding Challenge at number thirty-five and Koei’s Samurai Warriors 2 on PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 at number thirty-eight. Project Gotham Racing 3 has also re-entered the charts at number seventeen, as a result of being included in the latest Xbox 360 bundle.
