The PlayStation 3 version of Capcom's action game Lost Planet 2 topped the weekly Japanese retail sales chart, which was home to six new SKUs, Media Create said Thursday. Lost Planet 2, the sequel to the December 2007 (in Japan) original, led the rankings with 85,000 units sold on PS3 for the week ended May 23. The Xbox 360 version also made the weekly top 10 with 34,000 units sold to come in at number five on the list. Combined, the title sold 119,000 units across both platforms. In all, there were six new SKUs on the top 10: the two versions of Lost Planet, Bandai Namco's PSP game Fullmetal Alchemist: To the Promised Day, and three versions of Konami's World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010: Blue Samurai Challenge. Across PS3, PSP and PS2, Konami's latest Winning Eleven soccer game sold 92,000 units during its debut week. Square Enix's Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 and Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, were both bumped down on the list after respectively leading the charts for the previous three weeks at number one and two. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 (1.07 million sold life-to-date) for DS dropped to second place, while Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (672,000 sold life-to-date) fell to fourth. Falling off from last week's top 10 were Nintendo's Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit Plus, Idea Factory's Haku Ouki Yugiroku, Square Enix's Nier Replicant, the PS3 version of Capcom's Street Fighter IV and Electronic Arts' 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
