Valve has announced that the previously profiled IGF finalist music game Audiosurf will be coming to the Steam platform combined with the full Orange Box soundtrack -- one of the first to take advantage of its recently announced Steamworks development package. The "music-adapting puzzle racer" has players using their own music files to create racing courses with its pace and shape determined by the tempo of the song, over which is played a colored-block puzzle game. The Steam version of the game will come complete with The Orange Box soundtrack, including cult-hit Portal end theme song "Still Alive." Valve also notes that Audiosurf will be one of the first to launch with community features added via its recently announced free development suite Steamworks, including full support for the platform's Xbox 360-like Achievements, which will appear on Steam users' profiles. The game will be released Friday, February 15th, at a price of $9.95. The title is an IGF 2008 Seumas McNally Grand Prize finalist, as well as a finalist in its Technical Excellence and Excellence in Audio categories.
