The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Dan Hon, co-creator of alternate reality game Perplex City, joins Weiden & Kennedy to create alternate methods of engaging consumers through new media and technologies.
Wieden & Kennedy London announced today that Dan Hon will join the advertising agency’s creative department to help develop new campaigns that take advantage of new media and technologies. Hon’s expertise lies in alternate reality games (ARGs), transmedia, cross-platform entertainment, and video games, and he promises to help introduce these ideas in Wieden & Kennedy’s future projects. Hon will work with a range of clients to further interact with audiences through non-traditional means. He previously worked on Perplex City, an ARG for the startup Mind City, and hopes to bring similar ideas to the agency’s future projects. “The world of advertising, media and entertainment is changing in such a fundamental way, and to be part of an agency that's embracing that change and open to new ideas is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to infusing W+K with a sense of play and games in London and Portland,” said Hon. Hon is departing from Six to Start, a company he co-founded in 2007, and developed several award winning campaigns for companies such as Penguin Books and E4. Nic Owen, director of operations for Wieden & Kennedy said, “Story telling will always be at the heart of what Wieden & Kennedy does, it’s just the context, depth and ways in which we tell them that has changed. Dan will help us make our stories richer and more exciting - we’re really pleased to have him.”
