Gamecock Media Group has announced that Blazing Lizard’s Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball will debut on Xbox Live Arcade in early 2008. The title aims to use the game of dodgeball to determine which faction, each of which has earned some cult popularity, is superior. The title was previously announced for unspecified 'home console download systems', but this confirms that XBLA will be the initial home for the amusingly titled action sports game. Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball will pit the sea-faring thieves against stealthy martial artists in beautiful environments in dodgeball competitions, with each team using its own particular style and technique. The game will also feature multiplayer modes, allowing for up to eight players and five teams. In addition to pirates and ninjas, the company says it will announce three more team types soon. Chris Stockman, studio director of Blazing Lizard, said, “It is no secret that Pirates and Ninjas have beef. But it turns out both have a great love for dodgeball and unique skills when it comes to playing the game. We are bringing together sworn enemies for what I can guarantee will be explosive dodgeball action.”
