Rock Band's extensively-stocked catalogue of downloadable music will see the addition of several more full-length albums this year, including recordings by the Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers. According to an Entertainment Weekly online report, Jane's Addiction's "Nothing's Shocking," Megadeth's "Peace Sells...but Who's Buying?," Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Texas Flood," Foo Fighters' "The Colour and the Shape," and Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" will be released "in the coming months," comprising part of the total 500-track pool that developer Harmonix Music Systems has promised in 2008. Also planned is a "best of" compilation of No Doubt material. Though reported as being marketed with the upcoming Rock Band 2, all current and future downloadable content for the franchise has been confirmed to work with both Rock Band and Rock Band 2. When released, the new tracks will nearly triple the number of full-length albums available for Rock Band. Typically, album releases are sold at a discounted price compared to the combined value of their individual songs. Said Paul Degooyer of publisher MTV Games, "We're surprised by how many people opted to get full albums. But it’s a good value proposition. Talk about something that’s been lost and forgotten."
